fond memories of paisley palace wholesale clothing
星期三, 七月 14th, 2010Fond memories of Paisley ‘palace’
I WAS sorry to read that the old Cochran’s shop in Paisley is ed hardy clothing being demolished (Building for the future, June 17)
I remember the store well from my childhood. (Zenith). While my mum was doing her shopping, I used to spend hours sitting at the foot of the marble staircase watching the lift operator take customers up and down
Back then, the early 1960s, the place felt like a palace, with gleaming brass fittings, gold-painted ironwork and acres of polished wooden floors
If I was really well behaved I’d be taken for an ice-cream float and a donut in the upstairs cafe, from where you got a brilliant view of the Abbey

I wish the developers well but warn them: ‘I’ve got my eye on you, so please don’t make Paisley even more of a mess than it has become in recent years’

A note to drivers who use Todd Street in Dennistoun, Glasgow Todd Street is NOT a dual carriageway. Juicy Couture wholesale
There is one lane to go down and one lane to come up You have to wait to get to the front to turn left or right
Drivers cannot smash into another car in front of them Cheap Jordan Shoes, or move to the wrong side of the road to let someone past
Please, angry drivers, think about what you are doing before you have an outburst at someone who, like you, is just trying to get home from work and has been sitting in traffic It is quite upsetting. chanel wallet

I WAS cursing when I got caught up in traffic on Thursday in Glasgow That was until I realised that the jam was caused by the convoy of black taxis taking city kids on their day out to troon
Eventually, when I realised that we weren’t going to move, I got out of my car and was rewarded with hundreds of smiling faces, waving children, tooting horns and beautifully decorated cabs
Taxi drivers often get a bad rep, but these guys deserve a medal I hope they, and the kids, had a brilliant day out

WELL done to all the smokers who have given up the weed, encouraged by the Evening Times’ Glas-goals campaign
Anyone who has ever tried it knows how tough it can be
But for the Glas-goals team to help Glasgow stub out 25million ciggies in just four months is fantastic
The message the rest of the smoking brigade needs to get is that there is help out there
It’s good for you to give it up and it’s good for your family and friends
So pick up the phone and give the helpline a call. (Zenith). It works I should know I’m now a non-smoker

THANK you for publishing the picture of the relief map on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, and naming the artist behind it, Kathleen Chambers (Memories, June 17). Cheap Bracelet
My dad, who died two years ago, lost his sight in his early 70s but any time we were in the city centre he’d always ask to go to the map, where he’s run his fingers over the bronze and repeat every street name as if he could still see them He particularly liked it once it had rained, and he could dip his fingers in the runnel representing the Clyde and make the grandkids laugh by splashing them with the water
So, thank you Kathleen
